Monique & Her Thoughts

 Most of you probably don’t know this about me but my ultimate goal in life is to make christian television shows. I want to make shows that deal with real issues, real people and real problems.

Television has been a big part in my life but I am not ashamed and I know I am not alone. TV is something that can reach more people than any one person can. It can make you laugh, it can make you cry, it can make you think and it can make you change.

My husband and I make christian films right now but one day we plan on having a studio to make films and television shows that make a difference in this world. I am writing this right now because I am so ready to do it.

So you have a goal in life aim for it. If you feel you are called to do something declare it. Don’t be ashamed and don’t be afraid. You can do it!

To tell you the truth I have been feeling this way for a while now and just realized this is what I need to be writing about. I am so tired of christians talking about everything but Jesus. Well known christians are conforming to this world, all they talk about is things that tickle the ear. We don’t need all the things they promise we will get if we believe and say our prayers just right. We need Jesus and that is it. I know we need to live but you don’t need the latest fashions, the huge house, the best car built and the biggest diamond made to live. I am here for one purpose and that is not to see how much stuff I can get. Does it make you happy, does it make you a better person, does it make you feel loved or most important does it help you and the people you love go to heaven. It is really easy to get you eyes on those things and off the purpose of God but we need to encourage each other to change our way of thinking. Stop the madness. That is what I need to tell myself every now and then when I get so consumed with the things of the world. So I encourage everyone that is reading this to take a deep breath and say “Stop the Madness”. Whatever you are wanting or worrying about not having it is OK. Life is not about that thing, it is about Jesus.

Don’t judge a book by it’s title, that is what I did but then I took the leap and bought it. My husband also suggested that I read it because they made it into a movie and if you don’t know my husband makes christian movies, so he wanted to find out what it was about.

I really enjoyed this book. It is a bit different than most of Francine River’s books but she has many of her powerful lessons in it as always. That is why I love her books.

If you are like me the title sounds like a horror story but to my surprise it was not. I don’t like horror movies at all. This book is more about salvation and what Jesus did for us. It is about someone who tries to take people’s sins away and as you know that is not possible. But that is what this town believes. So a little girl goes to find the sin eater to take away her sin and then finds a man with the true answer which is “Jesus”.

Very powerful message and I enjoyed the suspense and the people in the story. I recommend to everyone and it can be a way to minister to someone about Jesus without saying a word. After you read it just pass your copy along. I think that is a pretty good idea, so that is what I am going to do.
